1. Identify the machine and belt format
- Machine brand and model
- Belt width and inside length
- Machine speed or operating range
- Contact wheel, platen or free-belt contact method
- Current belt joint and any directional requirement
2. Describe the workpiece and operation
- Workpiece material, hardness and geometry
- Process: stock removal, weld blending, deburring, contour sanding or finishing
- Manual or automated feed and approximate contact pressure
- Dry or wet use and available dust or slurry control
- Target finish, removal rate or accepted reference result
3. Provide a current-product baseline
A photo of the current label, an unused belt and a used belt can provide a more useful comparison than a product code alone.
- Current grain family, backing, grit and joint if known
- Current belt life or pieces processed per belt
- Failure mode: loading, heat, edge wear, joint failure, glazing or inconsistent finish
- Any accepted sample, drawing or inspection reference
4. Define the commercial program
- Trial quantity and expected repeat volume
- Grit mix and pack count
- Plain, buyer-brand or private-label packaging
- Destination market and required product documentation
- Target timing for sample, decision and repeat order
